November 24th, 2016 – Percy Priest

The temperature is cold and the changes are here. The water temperature is between 56-60 degrees at 3.5ft below summer pool. This week the bass have been biting more consistently in 1ft-4ft thought the entire lake! Squarebill crankbaits in shad or craw color, red or chrome rattle traps, and black/brown jigs with craw trailer have been producing around boulder rocks on points and isolated wood in pockets with shad. The crappie have locked up since the front moved through. A lot are suspending in deeper water and hard to catch. Others are sitting in brushpiles in 8ft-16ft, yet reluctant to move. Even though the bite is tough, there are still active crappie around wood in 6ft-14ft, just not as many. The bite will turn up once the temperatures stabilize.
