March and April Reports

The last 2 months have offered some of the best fishing of the year! As the bass moved up to spawn we caught hundreds of pre-spawn bass in 2 to 5ft of water on topwater baits, rattle traps and chatterbaits. Our guides had strong tournament finishes from second to sixth place. The crappie were also hauled in by the hundreds on live minnows and Crappie Magnet jigs. While the fish concentrated around shallow structure, fishing was consistent and easy. In April the fish started to move out and we were catching quality largemouths and smallmouths in 4 to 8ft of water on swimbaits and crankbaits. The crappie moved out as well in 5 to 10ft brush piles and were being caught on jigs and minnows. In the next few months we’ll see both species moving out into their summer patterns.
