December 2020

The winter bite is here!
The crappie have been biting great in the river in 6ft-18ft and down lake in 25ft-50ft. Crappie Magnets have been the ticket. However, live minnows have been productive as well!
The bass have been biting good in the river in 3ft-10ft. Alabama rigs, jerkbaits, shaky heads, and jigs have been productive!
The hybrid have been biting well in 25ft-50ft on minnows, Crappie Magnets and silver buddies!

The last couple weeks the bass and crappie have been making their transition into a concrete fall pattern. The inconsistency in temperatures helps the fish to bite well one day, but then locks them up the next day.
We have had several awesome crappie trips before the cold front moved in this week! Most of our crappie our being caught live minnows fished off the bottom. However, casting 1/16oz Crappie Magnets in chartreuse and white in the river around isolated wood has been productive as well!
Both species will turn on as the cooler temperatures stabilize! To read more detailed reports on where and how I catch my fish sign up for my Premium Reports here!

October crappie bite is heating up!
The crappie have been biting good in brushpiles in 9ft-14ft. Live bait has been the ticket 2-3ft off the bottom. As the temperature continues to drop the crappie will move into 3ft-8ft.
The bass have still been tough. They are in their summer/fall transition, but starting to move into shallow water to feed on bait. Topwater lures, crankbaits, rattle traps and soft plastics in 1-4ft have been where we are catching our fish. The dam should be opening to lower water to winter pool any day now! This will help the bass fishing!

Only a few more days left in September and fall fishing will crank up! The 10 day forecast shows highs in the 60’s and lows in the 40’s. This will bring the water temperature down into the 60’s and begin positioning bass in shallow water!

Recently the bass have been slower. We have been covering a lot of water to find a handful of aggressive bass. Crankbaits, whopper poppers, and soft plastics have been productive in 2ft-8ft.

The crappie have been biting good in brushpiles in 10-14ft. Live bait has been the ticket 2-3ft off the bottom. We have also caught dozens of crappie on Crappie Magnets when fished on a 1/8oz jig. Chartreuse and silver along with blue and clear have been our best colors!

A few pictures from last weeks trips!

The last 7 days the hybrid and crappie have cranked it up a notch!
The crappie have been biting in brushpiles in 14-20ft. Live bait has been the ticket 2-5ft off the bottom. The “down lake” bite has been the most consistent.
The hybrid have been feeding in the morning and evenings!! Early mornings have been the best with topwater lures and spoons.
Lastly, the bass have been biting on crankbaits and soft plastics in 8ft-15ft. Next week the temperatures are suppose to drop…..which should increasing the bite!
