April 2021

April was a super month here at BCGS!!! The bass, crappie, and hybrids are starting to bite more consistently! Although there is still a small percentage of fish spawning, most are trying to concentrate in deeper water.

The bass have been biting on topwater lures, crankbaits, spinnerbaits and soft plastics in 2-8ft. Pockets and coves have been productive where there are creek channels present.

The crappie have been biting good in brushpiles in 10-18ft. Live bait has been the ticket 2-3ft off the bottom. As the weather continues to heat up the crappie will become more active as they recover from the spawn.
