The last 10 days the bass bite has been fair. While fishing in 1ft-6ft of water crankbaits, buzzbaits, jigs, and rattle traps have been the most productive. The water temperature is between 50-54 degrees. The lake is 2ft below summer pool and falling. However, the consistent rain is trying to raise it at the same time. The crappie have been tough to catching with the rising water. Until the water clears chartreuse matched with dark colors will be your preferred Crappie Magnets. Once the weather stabilizes the fishing will as well. The crappie will be aggressive up lake and the bass will be active in 1ft-8ft throughout the lake! Book you fishing trip today at www.briancarper.com!!!! Fishing has been great on Percy Priest Lake! The water temperature is in near 80 and the bass are active in their summer patterns! Most of the bigger bass have moved out into their post spawn patter in 8ft-12ft. Soft plastic crawfish, crankbaits, jigs, shaky heads, and swimbaits have been productive lures on humps and ledges. Each day this week the crappie have been biting better! The warmer temperatures are finally forcing them into deep brushpiles! Pearl Crappie Magnets fished on a 1/8oz jig and live minnows fished 2-3ft off the bottom have been the ticket! Yesterday we caught over 40 crappie, including 25 keepers! Now is the time to book your FATHERS DAY trip!!! Show your father how much you appreciate him by taking him fishing!!! Pontoon trips with families and friends have been filling up the calendar! The water level is half a foot above summer pool and the fish are starting to bite more consistently in deeper water. The water temperature ranges between 69-72 degrees. The bass are finishing up their spawn. Some big girls are still being caught shallow, but the deeper bite has started to turn on. Drops, ledges and humps in 4ft-8ft have been successful depth. The most productive shallow baits have been Texas rig plastic crawfish, worms, and crankbaits! The crappie are finishing up their spawn as well. However, we are still seeing a lot of crappie with eggs. The crappie are being caught shallow on stake beds and in deep (12ft-18ft) brushpiles! Both live minnows and Crappie Magnets have been producing. The 1st week of January has been consistently inconsistent! The water level has been high and muddy with all the rain, but is now the descending back to winter pool. If the cold weather stays and the lake reaches winter pool the bass, crappie, and hybrid fishing will be excellent! Here are a few pictures from last week!

Thanks for a great 2019!
