BCGS guide, Hunter Carmichael kicked butt today on Priest with a 5 fish limit for over 16lbs! Way to end 2012 buddy! I cant wait to get out there tomorrow!

Christmas came early! Today on Percy Priest Mike, Travis, Dan, and myself caught over 30 crappie, including 14 keepers! Among those keepers were some giants over 14″! All fish were caught in 14ft-21ft on jigs and minnows! Merry Christmas guys!

Yesterday BCGS guide, Jacob Jewell went out for a fun day of bass fishng.  He and a friend caught several bass including this giant 5+ smallmouth. What a beauty!

Tuesday I fished with Hugh, Shannon and Hannah.  Fishing for crappie we had a fun trip with over 12, including this giant! Thanks for a fun trip guys!

Monday BCGS guide, Hunter Carmichael and Klye fished on Kentucky Lake. They had a fun day, catching over 25 bass on rattle traps and crankbaits.  Nice catch guys!

Percy Priest lake has risen 2.5ft in the last 48 hours and muddied on the upper end. So I had to make a few adjustments for Jimmy and Malcolm. Fishing for only 2 hours, we caught 20 crappie, including these 10 giant slabs! We found our fish in 19-21ft of water on the lower end of the lake. Thanks for another great trip guys! Another awesome day of crappie fishing! Today the Hagman and I caught 45, including 25 keepers! We fished some new locations and caught some giant crappie! Thanks for another great trip Jerry!

Fun, wet day on Percy Priest with regular client Tim Reed from Murfreesboro. We caught 12 keeper crappie in the first hour and half and then switched to bass, catching a few here and there with this nice keeper!

Today I fished with Walter and Don from Murfreesboro, tn. Fishing for crappie we had a great day with around 50, including 25 keepers! All fish were caught on jigs and minnows. Thanks for a great day guys!

Saturday I fished with Ken Harris, owner of the popular ETC Gymnastics from Murfreesboro, Tn.  Fishing for bass we had a fun morning with around 8-10 in the boat, including 3 keepers!  We fished jigs and cankbaits in 4ft-8ft of water.  Thanks for a great time Ken!

Today I fished with Daniel from Franklin, Tn.  Fishing for bass we had a great day with around 12 in the boat, including 5 good keepers for around 15lbs.  Most of our fish were caught on crankbaits and rattle traps in 2ft-4ft of water.  Thanks for a great time on the water Daniel!  See you in the spring!

Saturday Jacob Jewell and I fished in Mike’s Saturday morning tournament.  We had a good day with around 15 bass caught on crankbaits and plastic worms.  We finished the tournament with 3 keepers and lost one keeper that straightened out my jig hook…it happens. We finished 2 pounds out of the money:(  It was still a great day on the water! 

Yesterday I fished with Ian and Callum Hay from Murfreesboro, TN.  Fishing for crappie we had a good day while trying to fight the wind.  We only fished for 3 hours, but in that time we caught several keepers, including this 14.25″ white crappie that will be summitted for the “Tennessee Angler Recognition Program” for a state award!  Great catch Callum!!

Today I fished with the Deans. We had an okay day on the water with a handful of crappie the first few hours and then switching to bass.  The bass were hit or miss at a few fishing holes, but after a little while we found a spot where we caught several nice largemouth bass and lost a few as well.  Thanks for another great trips guys! 

Today I fished with the Hagman and friend Frank.  Fishing for crappie we had a super day with over 50 fish, including 21 keepers!  The majority of the keepers were caught in 4ft – 8ft of water with bobbers and minnows, but we did catch a few tight lining.  The crappie are moving shallow and the slabs are biting!!!Call today to book your trip!!!

Last Wednesday Shane Adams and I took out several clients that were in town on business. Fishing for bass we had a pretty tough day with only a few caught per boat.  My boat struggled the first 3 hours, but  the last hour was good with 5 fish including a 3.5lb, 2.5lb and 2lb.  Thanks for a fun time on the water guys.  After the trip was over Shane and I went back out and caught several more!

Yesterday I had two trips.  My first trip was with David Coleman and Michael Pollard.  Fishing for crappie we had a good day with around 40, including 20 they took home.  We were able to catch several shallow again on bobbers and the rest were deep, caught with tight lined minnows.  Thanks for another great time guys! My second trip was with Jason and his brother in-law, John from IL.  Fishing for bass we had a great day with 16-18 in just 4.5hours!!!   We caught a few on crankbaits, but most came in 1ft-2ft of water on buzzbaits!  What a great time….thanks guys!

Today I fished with Rocky and David from Nashville. Fishing for bass we had a good day with around 20, including several nice fish!  Below is Rocky with a 3.5lb smallie!!! Most of our fish were caught on rattle traps, but a few on plastic worms and crankbaits in 2ft-6ft of water.  Thanks for a great time guys……see you next time.

Yesterday I started the day with Lynn, Brad and Cole from Brentwood, Tn.  Fishing for crappie we had a great trip with over 40, including 12 keepers!  The cold snap still has the crappie in deep water, but this weeks temperatures should bring them back up into the shallows. My second trip was with Shelby, Will and Kenya.  Fishing for crappie for 2 hours, we caught around 15, including a handful of keepers.  You guys did great today!!! Enjoy the rest of your fall break!

Today I fished with the Hamar’s from Nashville.  Fishing for bass and crappie we had a super trip.  We started the morning catching 40 crappie, including 21 keepers is just 3.5hrs!  The remaining time we fished for bass and caught one here and there.  The colder temperature that moved in the other day slowed the bass bite down, but that will change this week when the warmer weather comes back.  Thanks for a great trip guys!

Today I fished with Bob Hodell from Columbia, Tn. Fishing for bass we had a good day with around 12, including several nice largemouths.  We spent most of the day fishing in 2ft-6ft of water with crankbaits, rattle traps and plastic worms.  Thanks for another super trip Bob….always a pleasure!

Yesterday I started the day with Joe Cummings and Cindy from Co.  Fishing for crapppie we had a great day with aound 25, including 12 giant slabs.  All fish were caught in 10ft-20ft of water on minnows.  Thanks for a fun day guys!

My second trip was with Doug and John.  Fishing for bass we had an exciting day with over 30, including white bass and largemouth bass.  We were able to find a few areas where the fish were feeding on schools of shad.  At the end of the trip we found bass schooling in 2ft-3ft of water and attacking our poppers almost every cast!!!   Thanks for such a memorable time on the water guys!

Yesterday afternoon I fished with Lloyd and Kevin Jaeger.  Fishing for both bass and crappie, we had a super trip with around 12 bass in the first 3 hours and  then 15 crappie, including 8 keepers in the last hour.  We found the bass in 2ft-4ft of water, feeding in windy coves and pockets where shad had been pushed up…..a sign that fall bassin is in gear.  Thansk for a great time guys, see you next season!

Friday I fished with Rick Gleadall and Mike Kimmet.  Fishing for crappie we had a great trip with over 30, including 14 keepers!  The bigger cappie are started to bite. So don’t wait to book your fall trip!

Yesterday I fished with Dwayne and Josh Barnes. Josh is on fall break and Dwayne decided what better way to spend time with his son then on te lake fishing! During our 4 hour trip we caught over 30 fish, including 13 keepers! Thanks for a great trip guys!

Yesterday BCGS guide, Kevin Patin, fished with Gerald and Josh Wright.  Fishing for bass they had a great day with over 12 bass!  All fish were caught crankbaits, jigs and soft plastics in depths of 12ft-15ft of water.  Glad you guys had a great time!

While out on vacation last week BCGS had several trips. Wednesday we had a corporate group of 10 gentlemen out!  Combined, they all caught over 40 bass and over 30 crappie!  Glad to hear everyone had a great time!  See you next year!Today I fished with Bob Hodell from Bellevue, Tn. Fishing for bass we had a good day with around 10, including 2 keepers. The schooling bass that I have been catching has slowed down in the mornings, but by afternoon they are back at it again. At the end of the day we went to check an area I like and there was another boat already fishing there. We had to watch him catch fish after fish(I think that is the hardest thing a fisherman can go through). Nevertheless, we had a blast fishing with crankbaits and the Bombshell turtle!!! Some bass are starting to move into shallow water and that is where the Bombshell turtle shines! This fall we be great for the Bombshell. Yesterday, my first trip was with Jay, Colleen and Ben Friddell. This was a birthday trip for Ben and what a great gift it was! We caught over 30 bass, all on topwater lures!!! Ben did most of the catching, but dad landed the lunker! Thanks for a great trip guys. You did a SUPER job Ben…..HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Yesterday I had evening trip with Eric and Dillon. We caught around 25 bass including these keepers! Our fish were caught on crankbaits, poppers and flukes. Today I fished with Jim Horn from Murfreesboro, TN.  Fishing for bass we had a super trip with over 40 bass, in just 6 hours! I fished with the Bombshell turtle, softshell color (which you can now purchase in the BCGS/GNO store at the top of this page), we also had success on Pop-R’s, jigs and crankbaits.  Jim is getting back into fishing after a 30 year break and did a great job picking up on techniques and patterns. The last few weeks I have been keeping a secret. I have been catching fish on a soft plastic that has never been used in Middle Tennessee and today is the day I pull back the curtain. It is called the Bombshell Turtle and it is one fish catching machine!!! It catches big fish, little fish and tons of them. After the sun rose, we swtiched over to soft plastics and caught a few more……including one 4.5lb! It was a riot…fish busting the everywhere, your heart rate pumping and reeling in fish after fish! After the sun rose, the fish moved out into deper water and we switched over to crappie….catching a good mess with minnows in brush piles in 8ft-12ft of water. Today I fished Scott and Zack Banister. Fishing for bass we had a good day with around 15-18, including our best 5 keepers weighing around 12lbs. The morning was slow with the cooler temperatures the night before, but as the temperature climbed the fish became more active. We fished with soft plastics most of the day, but found more bites the last few hours with crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Our best 5 weighed 11.02lbs….enough for 7th place. We thought we were going to finish higher, but there were four 11lb bags brought to the scales and we had the lowest.
